Though some may think there's neither reason nor rhyme in irregular English verbs, the truth is quite the opposite.

 

In fact, they belong to clear-cut groups that usually have a rhyme that helps the learner to remind them. These groups were clearer in Old English, yet in modern day English irregular verbs can be easily classified in five groups to help the learning process.
